HMC-TV, Channel 20, started in 1993, and is on the air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Channel 20 is a volunteer-operated non-profit community TV station. Our programming consists of "Happenings", a computerized bulletin board messaging system, and special content. "Happenings" is shown 4 times during the day, and is self-produced in our studio at 20 Hershey's Drive near the Main entrance to Hershey's Mill. We also have an alliance with WHYY, Channel 12, that allows us to rebroadcast much of the special content from their digital Wider Horizons and Arts & Culture channels.

Channel 20 publishes the HMC-TV Guide & Digest once a month. This magazine now upgraded to full color contains articles of interest to the community, the Comcast channel lineup, a schedule of Channel 20 programs, community activities, and other related items.

Another activity produced by Channel 20 is a series of outdoor concerts. These are held at the Hershey's Mill Golf Club parking lot on 3 Sunday evenings during the summer.

Recently we have produced a soap opera seen on Happenings called "As the Mill Churns", and an antique appraisal program held in Winfield Hall including in-home appraisals for large items.

Channel 20 has also installed a custom written software program in the Pro Shop's computer to automate the tee times which are shown on our bulletin board messaging system. In addition, through another piece of specialized software, the Chief of Security can now display important community messages when the bulletin board system is active. These two software programs were donated by Channel 20.

Hershey's Mill now has its own Web site. The address is www.hersheysmill.org The Web site is currently a work in progress and needs your input for additional content. Comments may be sent to Channel 20 at hmctv@comcast.net

The station has over 50 volunteers consisting of advertising sales specialists; studio set designers, cameramen, video editing technicians, accounting clerks, and many more that are responsible for keeping the station on the air and moving forward.
